BALTIMORE, May 14 (UPI) -- The man who crashed a truck into the lobby of a Baltimore-area TV station sent a series of incoherent tweets during his hours in the building.

Vladimir Mehul Baptiste, 28, of Parkville, Md., was arrested late Tuesday. He was sent to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and charged with attempted murder.

Holed up in an editing suite at WMAR-TV's building in Towson, just outside Baltimore, Baptiste communicated with the outside world by Twitter.

One communication read:

In a later tweet, he said:

Security guards at the station said they heard loud knocks on the door just before noon Tuesday. A few minutes later, a truck hit the building.

The truck had been stolen from a landscaping company that had a job nearby.

Station employees were able to get out of the building safely, and no injuries were reported. Most gathered in a parking lot where they also used social media to tell the story.

WMAR, the ABC affiliate in Baltimore, was unable to broadcast during the standoff.

Baptiste was being held in lieu of $750,000 bail and faces a long list of charges.
