WASHINGTON, May 6 (UPI) -- The White House was placed on lock down by the Secret Service Tuesday afternoon when an unauthorized vehicle said to be trailing an official motorcade en route to the building entered a restricted area.

The gray Honda sedan followed the motorcade—which conflicting sources claim was either transporting the Obama daughters home from school or ferrying Secretary of State John Kerry to a scheduled meeting with the president—reportedly running a roadblock and driving onto a restricted section of Pennsylvania Avenue where it was stopped by federal agents.
