TOKYO, April 24 (UPI) -- Caroline Kennedy, now the U.S. ambassador to Japan, recently told ABC News' Jonathan Karl that she would support Hillary Clinton's bid for president -- if she ever decides to run.

“I know it sounds like a cliché, but two years is a really long time in politics,” Kennedy, 56, told Karl.

Kennedy mentioned that news of Chelsea Clinton's pregnancy might play a role in Hillary's decision.

"I’m sure she’s looking forward to being a grandmother, I know she’s got to decide soon. So, so you know I hope so."

When asked about her presidential ambitions, Clinton has only said that she's "thinking about it" and will decide later this year.
