ATLANTA, April 22 (UPI) -- A man suspected of gunning down a woman in the parking lot of a Georgia mall was found dead at his home in an apparent suicide, police said.

The body of Danny Wray Brown, 59, was found at his home in East Point, an Atlanta suburb, hours after he allegedly killed Violet Lambert, 55, in the parking lot at the Cumberland Mall, police said. Brown apparently shot himself.

Lambert was mortally wounded Monday afternoon in the parking lot at the mall and died a short time later at a hospital. Investigators said Brown also fired at someone who tried to help her but missed.

Witnesses said the shooter drove away in a white van like the one found parked outside Brown's home.

On Saturday, a security guard was killed at Town Center in Cobb, another Atlanta-area mall. In that case, the alleged shooter also killed himself.
