Lawmakers chat about nothing through 3-hour hearing

Congressmen shoot the breeze during committee hearing.

WASHINGTON, April 14 (UPI) -- The Huffington Post Politics team decided to take their best edits and make a video of lawmakers babbling about nothing during a 3 1/2-hour hearing.

On April 8, the House Financial Services Committee convened to hold a hearing about fraud enforcement and consumer protection and the selected edits show just how productive it was.

The committee members discuss everything from Breaking Bad to dirty glasses to planting bushes. They even tell riddles.

The results of the hearing were less than impressive, and this video is just another example of why Congress has seen such low approval ratings in recent years.
