NEW YORK, April 8 (UPI) -- The new cover of The New Yorker is sparking controversy as it illustrates President Barack Obama's healthcare victory over the Republicans.
The cover depicts an adult-sized grinning Obama spoon-feeding medicine to the "petulant" childlike figures of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn. A depiction of Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-Ohio, can also be seen sulking in the corner.
The artist, Barry Blitt, said he enjoyed illustrating this issue: "I enjoyed drawing Ted Cruz, John Boehner, and Michele Bachmann as petulant children -- I especially wanted to draw an open-mouthed Mitch McConnell being spoon-fed his meds."
