April 2 (UPI) -- Newtown residents are deciding how to spend the $11 million in donations to the town and they want part of it to fund the demolition of the Sandy Hook shooter's home.

A survey was conducted among residents of Newtown, Conn. on how best to spend the over $11 million donated to the town after the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012. Many residents said they would like to see a portion of it go towards demolishing the home of Adam Lanza and his mother Nancy and turning it into park or nature preserve.

Residents also suggested that the money go toward counseling and cash-assisted services for families.
