NORFOLK, Va., March 25 (UPI) -- Two men were killed Monday night after a shooting took place at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia.

The men, a sailor and a civilian, were on the destroyer USS Mahanttan located at Pier 1 when the shooting took place at around 11:20 p.m.

Naval Station Norfolk was put on lockdown for 45 minutes after the incident, but all operations have returned to normal since with the exception of Pier 1.

While the details of the shooting are still under investigation, a post on the Naval Station's Facebook page said that the civilian man has been killed by naval security forces.
