MIAMI, March 7 (UPI) -- Vandals broke into an apartment garage in Miami, damaged 46 vehicles, and made off with Global Positioning System devices, cell phones and more, police said.

The four suspects, all of whom wore masks during the incident, broke into the parking garage in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood early Thursday, the Miami Herald reported.

They scattered when a woman pulled her car into the garage, said Freddie Burden, a Miami police officer.

Residents said they were puzzled by the break-in.

"We don't have any idea how the people got inside," said a man named Lorenzo, whose 2005 Nissan Maxima was broken into.

"We didn't hear anything," said Laura Sera, 20, adding that her brother's vehicle had its front window broken.
