SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., March 7 (UPI) -- A person at San Clemente High School used the social media app Yik Yak to post a bomb threat, causing the school to go into lockdown.

The person who sent the threat is presumed to be a student and they sent the school into full lockdown with people sheltering in place and bomb sniffing canines sweeping the school. The dogs found nothing and the school was cleared after several hours but this isn't the first time the app has caused trouble.

In Chicago, the app has been shut down entirely due to its use as a bullying tool. It has also been used to post racist remarks.
