Attack ad says gay marriage is Mitch McConnell's fault

This attack ad is a bit of a reach.

WASHINGTON, March 5 (UPI) -- An attack ad from a Tea Party group claims that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is responsible for gay marriage progress in Kentucky.

McConnell has a tough race ahead with Democratic opponent Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, but that is if he can get past the primary with some heavy Tea Party opposition. GOP candidate Matt Bevin released an attack ad claiming that due to McConnell endorsing a judge who ruled that Kentucky must recognize same-sex marriages, he is not concerned about the conservative agenda.

Judge John Hayburn -- the judge in question -- was appointed 22 years ago, before gay marriage became as heated an issue. McConnell has also pushed forward a conservative agenda that has caused friction in Congress. Although if you ask this group, he's the reason we are "stuck with gay marriage."
