VP Biden tries to sell Canadian on healthcare

There is something to be said for having people pre-screened.

PHOENIX, March 3 (UPI) -- Vice President Joe Biden made an unfortunate gaffe when he tried to sell a Canadian woman on President Obama's Affordable Care Act.

Biden was on a day trip to Arizona and decided to take his sales pitch of Obama's signature legislation to the locals. However, he spoke to a woman named Jackie who was not a local but a visitor from Canada. It's a shame because Biden's pitch was pretty convincing.

"Everybody young signs up for healthcare. It's affordable, you can get subsidies to do it, and it's in your best interest. Even if you don't want to do it for yourself, do it for you parents. Give them peace of mind," said Biden.

The poor woman did not exactly know how to tell the Vice President that he was preaching to the wrong choir.

"I did not know if I should just say, 'I'm sorry. I'm Canadian. Don't know if I can help you out,'" Jackie told KTVK.
