9-year-old shot during neighbor's target practice

It's against the law to discharge a firearm within city limits in Dallas.

DALLAS, March 3 (UPI) -- A 9-year-old was shot while a neighbor was shooting in his backyard for target practice.

Cristian Manzano, 20, was shooting for target practice in his backyard when one of the bullets went through a fence and a neighbor's window to strike a 9-year-old. Four men were questioned but Manzano was the only one arrested.

He has been charged with recklessly discharging a firearm within city limits and causing bodily harm to a child, and he was been taken to Dallas County jail. He has numerous drug charges on his record and has been previously charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.

The child is in the hospital in critical condition.
