CHARDON, Ohio, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- An Ohio man whose son was killed in a school shooting was found dead on the second anniversary of his son's death, police said.
Geauga County authorities gave little information about how Russell King, 48, died Thursday except to say that he was in his home in Chardon and that a relative found him, the (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported. Sheriff's Lt. John Hiscox said the coroner reported no indications of foul play.
Also Thursday, families of the three teenagers killed at Chardon High School in 2012 by T.J. Lane filed a lawsuit against the school district, the Plain Dealer said. Nick Walczak, a student now in a wheelchair because of his injuries, also is a plaintiff.
T.J. Lane, a student at an alternative school, Lake Academy, is in prison after pleading guilty. Lane wore a T-shirt to hearings that said "Killer" and has never explained why he opened fire in the high school cafeteria.

"What happened took an enormous toll on all the families,'' Geauga County Prosecutor James Flaiz told the Plain Dealer. "It hit Mr. King as hard or harder than the others. He was extremely close to his son. Seeing the emotional pain on him concerned me.''
The lawsuit charges that officials in the district and at the high school and Lake Academy should have been aware of Lane's emotional instability and known he could easily get a gun. Lane used a weapon that belonged to an uncle in the shooting.
