SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Feb. 25 (UPI) -- A California college student has reported being gang raped, the second such allegation near the school in as many months, police said.

The woman, a 19-year-old student at the University of California-Santa Barbara, said she was walking in a residential neighborhood just off campus where many students live just after midnight Sunday when three men beat and raped her, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday. The student went home after the attack and told her roommate, who called police.

Officers scoured the area where the attack took place but found nothing. No arrests have been made.

Sunday's incident is the second near the school this year, the Times said. An 18-year-old UC Santa Barbara student said she was raped adjacent to campus by three men in the predawn hours Jan. 18. Police have arrested three suspects in that case.
