PHOENIX, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- A federal judge has sentenced an Arizona man to five years in prison and a $7,500 fine for setting off a bomb outside a federal office building.
Abdullatif Ali Aldosary was sentenced on one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition after being convicted in September of weapons charges, the (Phoenix) Arizona Republic reported Monday.
He set off a bomb in front of the Social Security office in Casa Grande in November 2012. No one was injured.
Police went to Aldosary's residence after witnesses spotted his vehicle at the scene, court records indicate. A search of his house found guns and ammunition in the attic and a closet.
Aldosary was prohibited from owning weapons because he is a convicted felon.
He still faces state charges in the explosion, including 14 counts of attempted first degree murder and arson.
