Chihuahua puppy recovering in Florida after being covered in hot sauce

SARASOTA, Fla., Feb. 24 (UPI) -- A Chihuahua puppy in Sarasota, Fla., was recovering and a man faces animal cruelty charges for allegedly dousing it in hot sauce, authorities said.

Police said Ephrian Myles, 47, became irritated Sunday when the 3-month-old puppy, named Gizmo, started having a seizure and began yelping. Myles allegedly covered the dog in hot sauce, some of which got in the dog's eyes and down its throat, WWSB-TV, Sarasota, reported.
