Resident of SoCal care home arrested in roommate's death

GARDEN GROVE, Calif., Feb. 22 (UPI) -- A Southern California woman was arrested for allegedly killing her roommate at a board-and-care home, police said.

Lucie Wardell, 49, was arrested on suspicion of murder in the fatal attack Friday on Hoa Sui, 50, at the facility in Garden Grove.

Firefighters responded to the home where Sui was reported to have suffered a heart attack; however the medics discovered suspicious lacerations on her neck and face and contacted police, the Los Angeles Times said Saturday.

Wardell confessed to the killing under questioning, but investigators said the motive was not clear.
