PARK RIDGE, Ill., Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Park Ridge, Ill., police said a 5-year-old boy who was asleep in a car when it was stolen Thursday was found safe in the car, parked in a Skokie neighborhood.

Police had issued an Amber Alert for 5-year-old Drake Whitker, who was asleep in the back seat of a white 2012 Audi Q5 when it was stolen from in front of a home in Park Ridge, a suburb northwest of Chicago, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Police found the boy safe in the car after getting a tip about 2:15 p.m., the Chicago Tribune said.

The car was taken from outside a residence in the 1700 block of Good Avenue and -- until police located it in Skokie -- had last been seen southbound on the street heading toward Northwest Highway, police said.

Drake was described as 3-foot-6 and 38 pounds with blond hair and blue-green eyes. He was wearing a black polo coat, the Amber Alert stated.
