PITTSBURGH, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Authorities said Sunday they had yet to identify any suspects in the shooting deaths of two adult sisters in Pittsburgh.

The bodies of Dr. Sarah Wolfe, 38, and her sister, Susan Wolfe, 44, were found Friday afternoon in the basement of their East Liberty neighborhood home. Officers discovered the bodies after Susan Wolfe's co-workers called police to request a welfare check when she didn't show up for her job as a teacher's aide, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

The older sister's car was found elsewhere in the city Saturday morning, the newspaper said.

The Allegheny County medical examiner's office said Sunday the women were killed by single gunshot wounds to the head.

"We're asking anyone in the East Liberty area or Highland Park to call us if they can give us a piece of the puzzle," city police Lt. Daniel Herrmann said. "It could be a minute piece of the puzzle but it still puts something into our puzzle."

The victims are the sisters of Iowa state Rep. Mary Wolfe.
