Vancouver, Wash., has hospital shooting day after murder-suicide

VANCOUVER, Wash., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- A day after a workplace murder-suicide in Vancouver, Wash., a woman allegedly wounded an employee at a VA hospital in the city, police said.

The Clark County sheriff's office reported the shooting occurred at about 4 p.m. at the Center for Community Health in the Vancouver Campus of the Portland VA Center, the (Portland) Oregonian reported. The shooter was described as a 46-year-old woman.

Police released little information about the shooting. Joshua Pullman, who was on the second floor of the building at the time, said he was told the woman, possibly a veteran, was dissatisfied with services at the center and that the victim, a man working for the VA, was shot in the hip.

On Monday, an employee of a Benjamin Moore Paint store in Vancouver shot and killed his boss and then turned his gun on himself.

Vancouver, on the Washington side of the Columbia River, is part of the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan area.
