PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- The U.S. Coast Guard said it is cleaning up an oil spill in the Delaware River near Philadelphia.
A Coast Guard spokesman said about 1,000 gallons of crude oil entered the river Monday afternoon near Monroe Energy LLC, in Trainer, Pa.

Officials said responders employed a boom to prevent the oil from spreading and used vacuums to suck out the tainted water, Philly.com reported.
The cause of the spill was not reported.
