Accused airman's remarks about alleged rape discussed in court

SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Lawyers in a San Antonio trial argued over the admissibility of a confession allegedly made by an Air Force photographer accused of rape.

Airman 1st Class Nathan Wilson-Crow, 22, is charged with 11 counts including rape, indecent exposure, improper sexual conduct and providing alcohol to a minor. The charges accuse him of sexual misconduct with high school students while he was a volunteer at a school-sponsored event at a camp near Rocksprings, Texas, in April 2013.

In a pretrial hearing Tuesday, lawyers discussed evidence that Wilson-Crow told his alleged victim, in a telephone call monitored by investigators, that he thought he raped her after plying her with alcohol.

The rape charge is the most serious, but the alleged victim has been unavailable to prosecutors. Judge Donald Eller Jr. was told by prosecutors he has been unable to contact her, the San Antonio Express- News reported.

Wilson-Crow's trial is scheduled to begin in April.
