9th woman accuses firefighter of sexual assault

ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 16 (UPI) -- A ninth woman has come forward and accused a Deltona, Fla., firefighter of sexually assaulting her, officials said.

Terry Freeman, 32, was charged Wednesday with sexual battery for the sexual assault of a 42-year-old Ormond Beach woman, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported.

The woman told police she went on a date with Freeman in November 2012. After the date, the woman said she agreed to go back to Freeman's house, where he told her he wanted to show her something in his bedroom.

Once in the bedroom, Freeman shut the door and allegedly "violently slammed her down on the bed before sexually assaulting her," said Volusia County spokesman Gary Davidson.

The victim said she decided to come forward after seeing news reports of similar allegations against Freeman.

Freeman was arrested Dec. 31 after an Altamonte Springs woman accused him of sexually assaulting her during a date Dec. 27.

Since then, eight other women, including the Ormond Beach woman, have come forward and alleged Freeman abused them as well. The suspect has been charged in two of the cases so far.

Investigators said they have received information there is at least one more victim.
