NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy said Tuesday it recovered the remains of the missing pilot of a military helicopter that crashed Jan. 8 off the coast of Virginia Beach, Va.

Search crews from Navy ships and diving units recovered the remains of Lt. Sean C. Snyder nearly a week after the crash, WAVY-TV, Hampton Roads, Va., reported.

Five crew members were aboard the MH-53E when it crashed.

Four were rescued, but two -- Lt. J. Wesley Van Dorn, 29, of Greensboro, N.C., and Naval Aircrewman Brian Collins, 25, of Truckee, Calif., -- died of their injuries. A third was released from a hospital Friday, while a fourth remained hospitalized at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
