Jan. 12, 2014 at 10:47 PM

BRANSON, Mo., Jan. 12 (UPI) -- The pilot of a Southwest Airlines flight from Chicago-Midway to Branson, Mo., accidentally landed at Missouri's Taney County airport Sunday, the airline said.

"The Southwest Airlines Pilot in command of flight #4013 safely landed at (PLK) Taney County airport this evening," the airline said in a statement. "The Boeing 737-700 carried 124 customers and a crew of five and was operating as a scheduled flight from Chicago Midway to Branson.

"Our ground crew from the Branson airport has arrived at the airport to take care of our customers and their baggage. The landing was uneventful, and all customers and crew are safe."

Southwest spokesman Brad Hawkins said it was unclear why the pilot landed at the wrong destination.

Taney County airport is about 7 miles from the Branson airport.
