Letourneau was arrested Sunday and held in King County Jail on $5,000 bond for failure to appear in court for a suspended driver's license case, jail staff said.
The case stems from a traffic stop in January 2013, when Letourneau was pulled over for expired car tags, KIRO-TV, Seattle, reported Monday. She was found to have a suspended driver's license and unpaid traffic tickets.
The county prosecutor's office ordered her to attend a relicensing program to avoid a criminal charge.
A warrant for Letourneau's arrest was issued in September.
She is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday on the traffic case.
Letourneau pleaded guilty in 1997 to child rape in exchange for a 3-month jail sentence and probation. After becoming pregnant by the student for a second time following her release, she was sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison for violating the plea bargain. In 2005, she married the student when he was 22 and she was 43.
