Jan. 2, 2014 at 1:43 PM

LAKE FOREST, Calif., Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Small brush fires burning in California's Holy Jim Canyon that injured one person and destroyed two cabins were contained early Thursday, authorities said.

Three fires broke out in the canyon near Trabuco Hills Wednesday evening, KTLA-TV, Los Angeles, reported.

About 100 firefighters worked to quell the flames.

Cabins in the area were evacuated, although a man staying in one of the burned-out cabins suffered burns on his arms, officials said.

The cause of the fires is under investigation.
