WASHINGTON, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- U.S. President Obama's approval rating with 18- to 29-year-olds now mirrors the general population at 45 percent, a USA Today/Pew Research Center Poll said.
Just ahead of his second inauguration less than a year ago, Obama enjoyed some of highest approval ratings in the 18- to 29-year-old demographic at 67 percent.
After the fumbled rollout of the Affordable Care Act, that number has tumbled to 45 percent, with 46 percent disapproving of the job he's doing, the poll said.
Other polls have found similar results.
Forty-nine percent of 18- to 34-year-olds disapprove of Obama's job and 45 percent approve, a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released last week said.
A Harvard Institute of Politics poll found Obama has a 41 approval rating with 18- to 29-year-olds with a 54 percent disapproval rating.
A Quinnipiac University poll said 41 percent of 18- to 29-year-olds approve of Obama and 54 disapprove.
The USA Today/Pew poll was conducted Dec. 3-8 with a margin of error of 8 percentage points.
