Another earthquake recorded in Fort Worth, Texas, area

FORT WORTH, Texas, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- A 3.7-magnitude earthquake was recorded Monday morning at Mineral Wells, Texas, northwest of Fort Worth, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Although there were no reports of damage or injuries, it was the second in two days and the most severe of the 25 earthquakes reported in the area since Nov. 1, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Most, if not all, of the quakes are believed to have been caused by injection wells used to dispose of waste water from gas drilling operations, an opinion the Texas Railway Commission neither confirms nor denies, the newspaper said.
