MIAMI, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- A woman convicted for the 1998 murder of her mother is scheduled for an early release from a Florida prison, state corrections officials said.
Valessa Robinson, 30, is scheduled to leave Homestead Correctional Institute in Miami-Dade County Friday, more than a year earlier than expected, Florida Department of Corrections spokeswoman Jessica Cary said.
Robinson received a 20-year sentence in 2000 for third-degree murder in the death of her mother Vicki, 49, a real-estate agent, in Tampa, as well as for theft of a motor vehicle.
Valessa, her boyfriend Adam Davis and his friend Jon Whispel conspired to kill Vicki Robinson, Davis injecting her with bleach from a syringe and stabbing her multiple times. The three youths were arrested after a high-speed chase in Texas, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
Under the law, Valessa Robinson was required to served 85 percent of her sentence and was scheduled to be released in 2015, but good behavior and the taking of classes in prison led to her expected early release, the newspaper said.
Davis is on death row, and Whispel's 25-year sentence will end in 2020.
