Thirty-eight percent said they have more to be thankful for now than in recent years and 14 percent said they have less, results of the online Harris Interactive survey indicated.
Specifically, 85 percent of respondents said they were thankful because of their health or family, closely followed by family relationships at 84 percent, the survey said. Seventy-six percent said they were thankful because technology makes it easy to stay in touch with family and friends.
Three in five of those asked said they were thankful for their personal economic situation or their work situation, results indicated. Seventeen percent said they were thankful for the economic situation of the United States.
Asked which of these traditional food dishes people look forward to most, Harris said 40 percent of U.S. adults listed turkey, well ahead of the 21 percent that said stuffing. Pumpkin pie, potatoes, cranberry sauce (or jelly or relish) received single-digit nods.
Results are based on an online survey of 2,368 adults Saturday through Thursday. A margin of error was not provided.
