Software guru McAfee sued in Florida for wrongful death in Belize

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Software developer John McAfee has been sued in Florida in the killing of a man authorities in Belize allege McAfee committed, officials say.

The family of Gregory Faull is suing McAfee in an Orlando court for Faull's wrongful death last year, the Orlando Sentinel reported Tuesday.

A housekeeper found Faull shot in the back of the head at his home on the Belizean island of Ambergris Caye Nov. 11, 2012.

McAfee, who developed the web security software that bears his name and who also has a home on the island, came under police suspicion because of repeated arguments the two men had about McAfee's dogs.

McAfee evaded police for several months. After surfacing in Guatemala, he returned to the United States in December. He has said he believes Belizean authorities want to kill him.

The Florida lawsuit claimed McAfee caused Faull's death "either directly or through his behest or by his agents."
