WASHINGTON, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- As they have done since 1972, the Iowa party caucuses kick off the 2016 presidential season, a calendar of the states' presidential party primaries shows.

The Iowa caucuses are scheduled for Jan. 18, 2016, followed by the New Hampshire Primaries on Jan. 26, a tentative calendar posted Sunday on 2016 Election Central's website indicated.

The websites said Georgia, Kansas, Maine, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina and Wyoming didn't have specific dates yet, the website said, noting that the information was subject to change.

Both the Democratic and Republican parties will be selecting presidential candidates during their party conventions.

The presidential election is Nov. 8.
