CLEARWATER, Fla., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- A U.S. army officer was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in Clearwater, Fla., accused of killing his wife's ex-husband.

Maj. Roman Izzo, 35, who was indicted by a Pinellas County grand jury, was arrested Thursday in the death of Vince Lee, 43. Family members of the victim say they believe the motive was a child custody dispute.

The body of Lee, a former Army paratrooper, was discovered Nov. 16, 2011 in a Clearwater condo. Police released few details in the case, only describing the death as "homicidal violence."

Police did not discuss a motive after Izzo's arrest, but Lee's loved ones believe a custody dispute between Lee and ex-wife Jodi Pavlica Izzo led to the alleged slaying.
