LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- A group of Hillary Clinton supporters said during a Los Angeles fundraiser they have a duty to urge the former secretary of state to run again for president.

"Our job is to basically convince, to urge, to nudge, to hug Hillary Clinton into the presidential race," Michael Trujillo, a senior adviser to the Ready for Hillary Super PAC, said Wednesday. "So as we take this journey literally three years from now, on Election Day hopefully it's all of us at the White House, hopefully it's all of us saying thank you to Hillary."

Trujillo said volunteers distributed yard signs, T-shirts and bumper stickers to the more than 400 people asked to donate at least $20.16 to attend, the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday.

The fundraiser took place two days before Clinton was to return to California for several speeches and awards.

In October, Clinton gave the strongest hint to date that she is mulling another White House bid, saying in a speech before a business group she wouldn't begin to think seriously about it until next year.

"I will think about it because it's something on a lot of people's minds," she said. "And it's on my mind as well."

When Clinton resigned as secretary of state, she said she wasn't interested in a 2016 presidential bid.
