Man falls from helicopter in possible suicide off Huntington Beach

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- A man died Tuesday after falling from a helicopter hundreds of feet into the Pacific Ocean off Huntington Beach, Calif., police said.

The Huntington Beach Police Department said in a news release a private helicopter reported a passenger fell from the aircraft about 1 p.m. near Balboa Pier.

Lifeguards brought the 60-year-old man to shore and he was transported to a hospital, where he died, KTLA-TV, Los Angeles, reported.

The incident was being investigated as a suicide.
