Rebecca Sardoni, 29, of Toms River pleaded guilty Sept. 9 to one count of criminal trespass, disorderly person, simple assault and harassment, the Ocean City Prosecutor's Office said.
The incident took place Oct. 19, 2012, when Sardoni and her mother, Stephanie, boarded the girl's school bus after she had come home crying several times, saying three boys and a girl had bullied her.
Sardoni's daughter was in the fourth grade at the time, the Asbury Park Press reported. After several incidents, the women waited at the bus stop, asked the bus driver for permission to come aboard and addressed two of the suspected bullies. Other students on the bus said Sardoni became extremely heated, screaming profanities through tears and slapped two of the boys. The grandmother was also yelling profanities.
Sardoni told the Press she had contacted school officials about the problem prior to taking matters into her own hands but they did nothing.
