Raymond, with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph, was about 380 miles southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, moving west at 10 mph, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said in its 8 p.m. EDT advisory.
No coastal watches or warnings were in effect.
Raymond is expected to move west during the next couple of days and could regain some strength during the forecast period, possibly reforming into a hurricane, the center said.
Tropical storm-force winds extended outward from center up to 70 miles.
