ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Former Casey Anthony lawyer Jose Baez will represent a 12-year-old Florida girl accused of bullying a classmate, prompting the victim's suicide.

The 12-year-old and a 14-year-old girl were charged with aggravated stalking after Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said comments that surfaced on social media indicated the elder suspect was glad Rebecca Ann Sedwick, 12, took her own life, the Orlando Sentinel said.

"Yes ik [I know] I bullied Rebecca [a]nd she killed her self but IDGAF" [I don't give a [expletive]]," the sheriff's office said the 14-year-old girl wrote on Facebook.

It was unclear whether the 14-year-old's family had hired an attorney.

Sedwick jumped from an abandoned tower in a cement factory near her house after her parents said she endured months of relentless bullying online or via text messages. The dispute began when the 14-year-old began dating Sedwick's ex-boyfriend, police said.

The Sentinel said Baez could not be reached to comment.
