WASHINGTON, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Tours of the White House will resume in November on a limited schedule through at least mid-January, a Secret Service official said.
Under the limited schedule, which is set to begin Nov. 5, tours will be offered three days a week, The Hill reported.
The limited schedule will be in place until at least Jan. 15, at which point the recently negotiated continuing resolution is set to expire and the Secret Service will evaluate costs that are "critical to funding its mission," the Secret Service official said.
Republican National Committee spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski accused the White House of playing "political games" with the reduced schedule.
"We're glad to see the Obama Administration is rethinking using school children who want to tour the White House as political pawns," Kukowski told The Hill.
Tours of the White House were halted in March after staffing was reduced due to the sequester. Before they were cancelled, tours were given five days a week.
