LAPD arrests suspect in dry-ice bombs at airport

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles International Airport employee was arrested in the dry-ice bomb explosions at the facility, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Law enforcement sources told the Times the suspect Dicarlo Bennett, 28, of South Los Angeles, was arrested Tuesday.

A Facebook account registered to a Dicarlo Bennett indicated he studied at Santa Monica College and was a former ramp supervisor for airport contractor Servisair, the Times said.

All three devices were found in areas the general public cannot access, leading investigators to focus on airport workers, especially those who had access to the tarmac, Los Angeles police Chief Charlie Beck said.

"Whether you think this is a harmless prank or a way to disrupt operations at the airport, it won't matter," Beck said. "You will go to jail."
