DC law may require 24-hour waiting period on tattoos

Washington, D.C. lawmakers are considering a plan to keep people from making decisions they may regret with a new proposal that could force a 24-hour wait period for people who want to get a tattoo or piercing in the city.

WASHINGTON -- The District's department of health proposed a set of tattoo regulations citing public safety issues. Possible tattoo reforms range from sanitation efforts to a 24-hour mandatory waiting period for individuals interested in a tattoo or piercing.
