DES MOINES, Iowa, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Conservative political observer Sarah Palin will speak at the fall fundraiser for the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition, organizers said Monday.

The keynote speaker will be U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, who along with Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, led opposition to the Affordable Care Act, including efforts to shut down most government programs unless the law was defunded, The Des Moines Register reported.

Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee and darling of the Tea Party movement, is confirmed to Nov. 9 at the Paul Knapp Learning Center on the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Faith and Freedom Coalition President Steve Scheffler told the Register.

At the Iowa Faith & Freedom event, political activist Phyllis Schlafly will be honored for her service to conservative causes, Scheffler said.
