Teen arrested for allegedly selling pot brownies

FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Oct. 10 (UPI) -- A 16-year-old Massachusetts girl has been arrested for allegedly selling brownies laced with marijuana at her high school, police said.

The girl, whose name was not reported, was arrested Monday at Framingham High School on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and having drugs on a school campus, The Boston Globe reported.

Police were notified after two of the girl's classmates became ill and told the school nurse that they had eaten pot brownies that they bought from a senior, said Framingham Police Lt. Ron Brandolini.

When questioned by police, the suspect admitted selling brownies to the two students, Brandolini said.

Police found more pot brownies in the girl's purse, Brandolini said.

"This is certainly a rare occurrence at the high school," Brandolini said. "You don't hear stories like this very often."
