Leaking weapon found in Colorado storage igloo

PUEBLO, Colo., Oct. 9 (UPI) -- The presence of a mustard agent vapor was detected in a chemical storage facility in Colorado during routine chemical operations, a monitoring crew said.

Passive carbon filters prevented contaminated air from exiting the structure containing 105mm projectiles, The Pueblo Chieftain reported Tuesday.

Officials said crews will begin installing air filters to lower the levels of contaminated air inside the storage facility before workers enter the structure in personal protective equipment to search for leaking munitions.

Federal, state and Pueblo County officials have been notified.
