Lawyers in Holmes' trial spar over dating website evidence

CENTENNIAL, Colo., Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Theater shooting suspect James Holmes returned to court in Centennial, Colo., as lawyers argued in a hearing over evidence involving dating websites.

With Holmes, his parents and his younger sister Chris present in the Centennial courtroom Monday, lawyers sparred over whether information from two dating websites can be admitted into evidence.

Holmes wrote "Will you visit me in prison?" on the website Match.com. The other is AdultFriendFinder.com.

The website entry suggests a consciousness regarding right from wrong, KCNC-TV, Denver, said, adding Holmes' lawyers argued the web pages were improperly taken from his phone and website providers and should not be allowed to be presented to a jury.

Judge William Sylvester added Monday 6,000 prospective jurors will be called to select 12 jurors and 12 alternates.

Holmes is accused of killing 12 people and injuring 70 at a movie theater in the Denver suburb of Aurora on July 20, 2012. He is charged with multiple counts of murder and attempted murder.
