"We had a collapse of a large section, and it fell onto a blimp that caused damage," Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi said.
The cause of the incident early Monday had not been determined, Concialdi said.
There were no reports of injuries.
The damaged blimp is an Aeroscraft zeppelin, an aluminum-and-carbon fiber, cargo-hauling airship that combines airplane and airship technologies. It is valued at $35 million, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.
