Dismembered man may have been victim of love triangle

CHICAGO, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- A man whose body was found dismembered and buried in a Chicago backyard may have been the victim of a love triangle gone wrong, police said.

Police said they found the body of a man in his 20s, whose name wasn't reported, buried in bags in the backyard of a Southwest Side home Friday.

Police had made no arrests, but believe the man may have been lured to the home by his 19-year-old girlfriend and killed by multiple sharp force trauma by the teen's new boyfriend, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Sunday.

The woman then helped a 56-year-old male relative, who lives in the house with her, dismember the body, place it into plastic bags and bury the bags in a hole in the backyard, police said.

Police were questioning the 19-year-old woman and her older male relative, both of whose names weren't reported, the Chicago Tribune said.
