SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Two suspects were arrested Saturday in an attempted robbery of a San Francisco television reporter that was foiled by a gun-firing security guard, police said.

Armani McFarland, 19, of San Francisco was arrested on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy and possession of a firearm, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. John Woods, 19, of San Francisco was arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy.

Police said one suspect was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot but didn't say which one, the newspaper said.

KRON-TV said two men were in the process of robbing one of its reporters, Jeff Bush, of his equipment about 8 p.m. PDT Friday when the security guard, who was with Bush, started shooting.

Two men, one with a gunshot wound, showed up at a hospital later and told police they had been shot at not far from where Bush had been held up.

Bush and the security guard, whose name wasn't reported, were not hurt in the incident, the Chronicle said.
